Saving Your Summer Holiday

Toward the end of 2019, Christian and I were jumping on every flight sale because we have never been on a holiday together. At this point, we were booking everything from wine tours to ski trips.

Fast forward to now, and we have a handful of travel vouchers and a bucket list we are yet to complete. However, we will not let the ups and downs of 2020 taint our travel bug for summer.

As we look and book for unique weekend escapes and one day wonders, we thought we would share our bucket list to celebrate not just the festive season, but this amazing country we get to call home.

Take a city escape and enter this enchanting hotel placed in the heart of Brisbane. The Calile Hotel is full or pastel character and complemented with delicious food. Whether you are soaking up the sunshine by the pool or exploring the cafes and bars surrounding the hotel, this is the ideal spot for a weekend getaway.
Christian and I are definitely not campers, however when we stumbled upon this hideaway we had to add it to our bucket list. With tepees full of bohemian decor and floating fairy lights throughout the camp site, it makes camping look effortless.
We would love to jump on a plane and tour the wildlife reserves in Africa. However, with the restrictions on travel we found the next best thing. Nestled within Taronga Zoo, you can wake up with the view of Sydney Harbour and have koalas as your company.
When we discovered a secluded solar powered eco resort in the Whitsundays, we instantly added it to our bucket list. The combination of the Great Barrier Reef with a tranquil beachside surrounded by rainforest creates the ultimate island paradise.
We must be honest, we have explored the Husk Distillery before, however we loved it so much we had to share it with you. If you are a colourful cocktail lover or enjoy sipping on gin, we recommend parking yourself under an umbrella and enjoy an afternoon picnic overlooking the hinterland.

If you are into unique and quirky art exhibitions, it's time you explore what Hobart has to offer. The MONA is not your typical art gallery with oil paintings and portraits. They will indulge and shock your senses, as their warped humour guides you through this amazing gallery.
Shake up your beachside getaway and drive inland to this stunning farm homestead. Once an old dairy, this has been converted into a private and rustic weekender. While the decor stays true to this original farm, the outlook over the plunge pool will keep you company with a bottle of red and a grazing board of cheese.
Tucked away to preserve tranquillity, this Hot Spring was high on our bucket list. Nothing would be more relaxing than sitting in a natural hot spring to welcome the stunning Australian sunset. Also, all the wineries in the surrounding areas is an additional bonus for me (maybe not for Christian).
Let's not deny the fact, we all have coastal crushes. Especially when we discover beautiful hotels to enjoy the sea breeze. Known for the exquisite restaurant and stunning interiors, Halcyon House is parked on the beautiful Cabarita Beach. If you want to explore what Northern NSW has to offer, this is definitely the perfect place to base yourself.
