Take a holiday and preserve the planet

In a moment of honesty, this idea for a blog post started as a laugh between Christian and myself. I recently discovered the hidden treasure of Elysian Resort in the Great Barrier Reef. I was intrigued by this destination as it is the first 100% solar powered resort in the Whitsundays. After days of researching this idyllic location, I approached Christian and said "wouldn't this be a great destination for a honeymoon?" He then replied "Sure, but we aren't engaged".

As I don't want to hold my breath waiting for him to get down on one knee, it got me thinking; sustainable living can be experienced in more than just our day-to-day life. While we plan our holiday escapes and pack our bags full of sustainable clothes and beauty products, the locations can provide us with the relaxing vibes, while also preserving the surrounding ecosystems.

While we can offset the carbon emissions from our flights (as the pollution from the flight stays in the atmosphere for up to several centuries), this gives me an additional incentive to explore the sustainable treasures our country has to offer.

We have gathered up our nights of googling over wine and compiled a bucket list of eco-friendly holidays within Australia.
